TemboCARD is a debit card issued by CRDB Bank.  You can use TemboCARD to withdraw cash from TemboCARD Cash Points or to purchase goods or services from retail outlets, which accept the card as a means of payment.

Features of the TemboCARD

·        Bears your name, signature and photograph

·        Bears your card number and/or account number.

·        Has a chip which stores money electronically.

·        It is small and handy.

Benefits of TemboCARD

Security:  TemboCARD guarantees security for you and your money.  If you lose your card, you need not worry since your PIN, which only you know, protects the card.  You are therefore the only one to spend your money.

Convenience:  Gives you the convenience of handling a small plastic card in your wallet rather than a big wad of cash.  You can then buy things you want from so many different merchants.

Flexibility:  You can load money into your card at any CRDB Bank Branch and use it wherever you are in Tanzania.

CASH Back Service

With you TemboCARD, you can get cash from TemboCARD, Merchants.  The cash given to you is deducted from the balance you have in your TemboCARD.

TemboCARD Cash Points

TemboCARDs can be used in TemboCARD Cash Points, which offer cash service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  TemboCARD Cash Points are available at CRDB Bank branches in Dar es Salaam, Moshi, Arusha and Mwanza.

Cardholder's User Guide on ATM Chip Functions

1.0 ATM Chip functions

The bank has added another feature in its ATM, whereby chip functions will be available at ATMs, which is a recent development in ATMs. This document shall provide guidance to consumers (cardholders) when performing chip transactions at ATMs.

Additional functions that will be offered include:

• Loading of TemboCARDs through ATMs.
• Accounts recredit.
• Cash back at ATMs.
• PIN change.
• Chip balance.
• Chip ministatement.

2.0 Loading of TemboCARD through ATMs.

This function will be accessible only by accountholders, as loading will be effected by debiting customer’s account. Steps involved are described below:

The cardholder shall:

·         Insert the card and the PIN to get access to the ATM functions.

·         On the fast cash screen he/she will select other services and then transfer functions. The transfer screen displays the account from which transfer can be done that is customer account or TemboCARD (chip).

·         On the transfer facility he/she will choose transfer from the account.

·         Enter the amount to be loaded into the card from an account. The system shall display the transfer from account, transfer to TemboCARD and the transfer amount.

·         Respond to the question prompted by the system that “do you wish to continue?” He/she will choose YES after ensuring that the details displayed on the screen regarding the transfer are correct.

·         Select YES to respond to the question “do you require an advise slip?”

·         Obtain a printed transfer receipt from an ATM that shows the loaded amount into TemboCARD from the account. 

3.0 Account recredit

This function will be accessible only by cardholders who maintain account with the bank. It involves transfer of money from the card to the account. The transfer will be effected as described below:

The cardholder shall:

·         Insert the card and the PIN to get access to the ATM functions.

·         On the fast cash screen he/she will select other services and then transfer functions. The screen displays the account from which transfer can be done that is customer account or TemboCARD (chip).

·         On the transfer facility he/she will select transfer from TemboCARD.

·         Enter the amount to be transferred from TemboCard to an account. The system shall display the transfer from TemboCARD, transfer to account and the transfer amount.

·         Respond to the question prompted by the system that “do you wish to continue?” He/she will choose YES after ensuring that the details displayed on the screen regarding the transfer are correct.

·         Select YES to respond to the question “do you require an advise slip?”

·         Obtain a printed transfer receipt from an ATM that shows the amount transferred to the account from TemboCARD. 

4.0 Cashback from the chip 

This function will be available to all cardholders. Cashback will be obtained as explained hereunder:

The cardholder shall:

·         Insert the card and the PIN to get access to the ATM functions.

·         On fast cash screen he/she will select other services and then cash.

·         Select Tembocard as the account for this transaction, from accounts displayed on the cash screen.

·         Enter the amount intended to be given as cashback.

·         Respond to the question prompted by the system that “do you require an advise slip?” He will choose YES after ensuring that the details displayed on the screen regarding the transaction are correct.

·         Take the card, money  and advise slip.

5.0 PIN Change

The function will be accessible by all cardholders. It will enable customers to change their secret codes if they decide to do so. Steps mentioned below shall be carried out to effect PIN change.

The customer will:

·         Insert the card and the PIN to get access to the ATM functions.

·         On fast cash screen he/she will select other services and then PIN change function.

·         Enter a new four digit PIN as prompted by the ATM.

·         Re- enter the new PIN to verify cardholder selection. By so doing the PIN will be changed to a new one.

NOTE:

All information described in the About your Tembo card leaflet regarding the PIN, remain relevant also to the new PIN.

6.0 Chip ministatement

The facility will enable cardholders to obtain a printed receipt with ten last transactions performed on the chip.

The ministatement will be obtained as shown below:

The consumer shall:

·         Insert the card and the PIN to get access to the ATM functions.

·         On fast cash screen he/she will select other services and then ministatement function.

·         Select Tembocard as an account for this transaction.

·         Obtain a printed ministatement from the ATM.

7.0 Card balance

The function will give the balance remaining in the card.

Steps involved in processing card balance are described below.

The cardholder shall:

·         Insert the card and the PIN to get access to the ATM functions.

·         On fast cash screen he/she will select other services and then balance function.

·         Select Tembocard as an account for this transaction. The purse (card) balance will be displayed on the screen.

·         Respond to the question prompted by the system “do you require an advise slip?” He/she will choose YES.

·         Obtain a printed receipt with card balance from the ATM

TemboCard merchants.

 A number of retail outlets accept TemboCARD as a means of payment for purchases.  They include petrol stations, hotels and restaurants, supermarkets, public transport companies, pharmacies and hospitals.

 Whenever you visit a place to make any purchase, look out for the sign that says 'TemboCard Accepted Here' and you will experience the benefits of holding the card.
